Melinda is also an avid martial artist. She holds a 2nd degree belt in Kenpo Karate, studies Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and teaches women’s self-defense. She lives in a messy house in the suburbs with her husband, two teenagers, a couple of dogs and one neurotic cat with an inexplicable fear of ceiling fans. This is a good all-around read, and perhaps not one to be started late at night and home alone. The characters are likable - or hate-able as the case may be, and the plot moves fast enough but doesn't feel rushed. I am a little tired of the trope of third person narration of the villain without knowing who he is, but it does seem necessary to sustain the plot. After all the reader should know who he is unt
