A NIGHT OWL REVIEWS BOOK REVIEW | Reviewed by: C. J. Walker

Ivy and David are expecting their first child. They live in a huge older home and seem to have a perfect relationship. When they have a garage sale to empty out their attic, an old schoolmate shows up at the sale and seems to disappear after entering their home. From all the evidence, it appears that David may have had something to do with her disappearance, although he didn't seem to even recognize her at first. Ivy tries to find out just what is going on, and gets more confused when she finds evidence in her on home that might connect David to the missing woman. A next door neighbor gets attacked, and Ivy then tries to figure out if the attack is connected to the woman's disappearance. The police seem to be content to gather evidence and try to pin the disappearance on David. Ivy has to do some investigating on her own, and more than once she endangers the life of her unborn child.

This book caught my interest from the very first page. The story continues to build and is full of action and suspense. I found it was like being on a rollercoaster ride, every time I thought that I was over the top and about to figure out what exactly was going on, the story took a new turn that took me higher on my ride. It was well written and I would enjoy reading this author again.

Book Blurb for Never Tell a Lie

It all started with the yard sale . . .

Eight months pregnant and nervous about the future, Ivy Rose doesn't recognize the woman approaching her and husband David as they attempt to rid themselves of the decades-worth of junk cluttering up their suburban home. The woman says she's Melinda White-their former high school classmate, now pregnant also-and asks if she might revisit the old Victorian house she recalls playing in as a child. David takes her inside. But Melinda never comes out.

With her husband a suspect in the bizarre disappearance and probable murder of the near-stranger he claims not to remember, Ivy must now dive into a deadly whirlpool of deceit, betrayal, and terrifying alternate histories in pursuit of a shocking truth-a truth that could destroy everything . . .
