Black List

Scot Harvath

This book is a bit of a change for the author. Usually, the featured player in these novels, Scot Harvath, is the one who, with his cohorts, is hunting the bad guys that want to lay waste to the United States Government. In “Black List” he and his men are the hunted and the premise of the book is how Scot dances around the world to avoid the people who are trying to kill him. The action starts out on the first page and doesn’t even slow down until the last. Even though there are a lot of interesting things that happen with technology, it is still a believable story and very fast-paced. The reader will definitely not sleep through any of the chapters. This author is a master at writing these types of thrillers and you shouldn’t miss any of them.

The book starts with a note: “All of the technology contained in this novel is based on systems currently deployed, or in the final stages of development, by the US government and its partners.” This quote alone is enough to make you sit up and start reading.

In this story, there is a very hush, hush list in the annals of the government that only the President and some of his advisers know about and, if your name is put on said list it will not come off until you are dead. Scot Harvath, an operative of the US Counterterrorism Group, has been put on this list and Scot has to find out who these people are and why they want him gone. This is what this page-turner is about and it shows just what people can do, without even going out of their offices, as long as they have a computer at hand and know how to use it. This is extremely real which makes it extremely scary. “Black List” is one of the best thrillers I have read by a very talented writer. A definite keeper!!!

Book Blurb for Black List

A stunning masterwork of action, intrigue, and ingenious plot twists.

#1 New York Times bestselling author Brad Thor returns with his most explosive thriller ever. Somewhere deep inside the United States government is a closely guarded list. Members of Congress never get to see it—only the President and a secret team of advisers. Once your name is on the list, it doesn’t come off . . . until you’re dead.

Someone has just added counterterrorism operative Scot Harvath’s name.

Somehow Harvath must evade the teams dispatched to kill him long enough to untangle who has targeted him and why they want him out of the way.

Somewhere, someone, somehow can put all the pieces together. The only question is, will Harvath get to that person before the United States suffers the most withering terrorist attack ever conceived?

An intense, page-turning novel that is action-packed and frighteningly real, Black List blurs the line between fiction and reality and once again reaffirms why Brad Thor “is arguably the best thriller writer of our time” (Suspense Magazine) and “America’s favorite author” (KTTX).
