Smith and Cyr had been best friends for years. When Cyr disappeared the day after they had sex for the first time, Smith vowed not to let anyone get close enough to hurt him like that again. This story is meant to be a Stand Alone in the Hunters for Hire series. This story starts really fast and keep the pace up right to the end. A short, quick read, you don't get too much back-story to go on. The Prologue gives you an idea of the series, but no info on this particular story. I liked the characters and the world building, but I'm not sure that I'd read the series based on this book alone. Fortunately I've read the rest and they're great.
