Fuel for Fire

Black Knights Inc., #10

After reading the past few books in the BKI series I was really looking forward to Dagan Zoelner’s story and Julie Ann Walker did not disappoint. She stayed true to her character development over the BKI series and brought Dagan and Chelsea’s story roaring to life on the pages. Dagan and Chelsea are up against all odds as they try to resolve the mystery of Spider, the story line that carries throughout the past few books, and fight off an inconvenient attraction to each other. Add to that Chelsea’s been keeping a few secrets from Dagan and revealing them may end up decimating their shaky truce as they work together on this latest assignment.

The Story: Dagan Zoelner never misses a chance to tell Chelsea she’s too soft for the covert job they are working on together. He’s just worried the woman he thinks way too much about is going to be hurt in the fallout of their investigation. Chelsea wants to prove that she is capable and can make a smart, savvy agent for BKI but it’s hard to battle Dagan’s attitude every day. For his part Dagan is just worried about her, without realizing how his comments can be taken to heart and how they might undermine her confidence. Especially when she’s much rather be doing something more fun with Dagan. Now that they are on the run trying to escape the bad guys together Chelsea’s is faced with an even tougher decision to either tell Dagan the secrets she holds about his own past and risk losing him forever or don’t tell him and build on a lie. This story is a fun, enjoyable read but is even better when read in the BKI series order.
