Abducted

The Dangerous Distractions

Wow, I was not at all impressed with my current reading of "Abducted" by the author, Samantha Keith. In fact, I could not even finish the story which is something I rarely do not do. Although the overall writing of this book was creative enough there was no excitement to be found within the plot itself. The book has a whole simply read like a narrative script rather than an actual story. I found this to be highly annoying and is one of the many reasons that I decided to discontinue my reading of the title.

The central focus of this book which I am guessing is supposed to be the romance between Cal, the hero, and Lana, the heroine was entirely fixed by the author and contained no real spark of sensual attraction that I would expect to find in a romance novel. Everything from the romance, to the chemistry, exchanged between the between the characters to the overall hints at a mystery of exactly who so willingly put the hit out on Lana's life was just one complete snooze for me. I needed some excitement. The story did not have to be off the charts with danger lurking at every corner, but I did need SOMETHING to convince me that I should continue to read this book. I came up with nothing. There isn't a single reason present that made me want to push further into my reading.

I will give the author credit for writing a descriptive story. The details are there but there isn't enough. I needed the scenes to be rippling with characteristics that would provide me with the direct link to what the author wanted the reader to see. There isn't any. The author has the mega potential to move forward within her career. The creativity is definitely apparent but this story is just a solid no for me and therefore I cannot give this book a recommendation to fellow readers.
