In this first in a new series we meet Cassie Miller, who returns to her hometown to work in the local post office after her fiancé dumps her. When there is a break in at the PO and a body is discovered in the nearby woods, Cassie finds herself getting drawn into the case. Can she stamp out the killer before another victim’s fate is sealed?
The idea of a postmistress as a sleuth is a good one, since we’ve been lacking in that department since Rita Mae Brown took Harry Harristeen out of the Post Office and put her back on the farm. J the mystery is well plotted, the characters quirky and excellently crafted. I look forward to the next instalment! – four Stars – ROCCO LOTEMPIO
